About Psychotherapy: If you are struggling with low self-confidence, divorce or breakup, self-harm, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, loss, relationship problems or eating and body issues, and looking for a warm, approachable therapist, I can help. I offer a safe, compassionate space where together, we can explore issues that may be causing you pain, anger or sadness, and work proactively towards changes, big and small. Psychodynamic therapy works by deepening insight into unhelpful or even toxic unconscious beliefs and patterns that can, unknowingly, hold us back. By drawing upon psychodynamic concepts and techniques, I can help you improve your relationships, soothe anxiety and negative thinking, and work through trauma and sabotaging behaviours or addictions that may be preventing you from living the way you want and fulfilling your potential. About Karen Richardson: I believe every person is unique, and an expert on their own life and experiences. I practice person centred therapy which is a humanistic approach to therapy developed by the psychologist Carl Rogers. My approach is grounded in the belief that individuals have the capacity for personal growth and self awareness and, given the right conditions, can navigate their own path toward psychological wellbeing. I believe that the person you are today is a product of every experience, interaction and relationship in your life to date. My belief is that all people should feel supported to understand themselves whilst exploring goals, challenges and aspirations for the future. Without this understanding, our past may well continue to influence decisions in the future.
